CBD series outdoor high voltage horizontal centre-breake type disconnectors are the most common type of disconnectors used in substations from 35 to 550 kV. This type of disconnector is popular due to its simple design, which makes it especially cheap compared to other types of disconnectors. However, the operation of disconnectors with a central break requires a greater distance between the phases than other disconnectors with the same rated voltage.
By design, the CBD high-voltage disconnector with a central break consists of two arms made of aluminum alloy and silver-plated copper contacts at the ends, which, moving in a coordinated manner in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the support insulators, close the circuit at a point located approximately in the middle. For grounding of de-energized sections, the design of the disconnectors provides grounding knives integrated into the design, which can be made on both sides of the disconnector, on the one side, and without earthing switches, depending on the circuit and purpose of the disconnector at the substation. The supporting frame and swivel base are made of hot-dip galvanized steel.
The swing base bearings are sealed and guaranteed to provide maintenance-free operation for the life of the equipment.
MAIN SPECIFICATIONS
ADVANTAGES OF DISCONNECTORS WITH A CENTRAL BREAK
The operation of the main knives of the disconnector and grounding knives is carried out by motor or manual drives. Post insulators are available on request in porcelain or silicone, with different (on request) creepage distances.
